For quite some time we considered the many options of what we would like to change when the time came to remodel our twenty-year old kitchen. We had numerous ideas, but no clue of where or how to begin. We realized quickly that we needed the expertise of the professionals, which led us to North Star Kitchens. It was there, we had the pleasure of connecting with Peter Harms, who quickly put us at ease and guided us flawlessly through the undertaking of remodeling our kitchen. Through our visits, Peter quickly learned that our kitchen has always been the centerpiece of our home. He understood we were now ready to complete our dream kitchen for both entertaining & cooking. It was a thrill to watch, as Peter & his team skillfully brought our new kitchen to life with each design aspect. Peter fulfilled all that we had envisioned. Peter did an outstanding job of redesigning the existing space, to include all the cabinetry and Sub Zero Wolf appliances on our wish list, while always considering the best possible functionality. He also provided excellent suggestions for the perfect countertops, sink, faucet, tile black splash & cabinet pulls. Peter's guidance gave us so much confidence. We found Peter's immense knowledge & experience exactly what we hoped for, when undertaking a project of this size. We truly appreciated that Peter made certain all details were considered and completed to perfection. Speaking of perfection…what a pleasure to have such a fabulous project manager (Tobin) who was meticulous in his approach to prep and installation. We recently completed our full kitchen/family room remodel and to say that we're happy with the result would be a tremendous understatement. Not only do we absolutely love our new kitchen, we are also coming away from the experience with incredible gratitude for North Star. Every phase of the process was handled with professionalism, attention to detail and timely communication. Beginning with the design process, we were very impressed not only with Peter's obvious talent, but with his ability to conceptualize our vision, offer pragmatic feedback and to plan and execute the project within a timeline and budget that worked for us. Peter made it abundantly clear through his work that he has the highest degree of knowledge, vision and ability. It was a partnership and it was fun! While going an extended period of time without a kitchen is not particularly fun, the construction phase of the process was handled with similar expertise. Our project manager, Nate, was a joy to work with. He and his crew are incredibly skilled, knowledgeable, efficient, tidy, polite and hardworking. The communication was second to none and we cannot stress this enough. Not once did we get the impression that something was being neglected or that anything was being left to chance. We always knew who would be in our home and when. Any deviation in schedule or plans were forwarded to us promptly. There were a couple of bumps in the road during construction, which is sure to happen on any project, but our questions were always answered in a timely fashion and our best interests were looked after. If there was any issue, we knew about it immediately and were presented with options and a plan to resolve it. Nate and his crew are true craftsmen and it was an absolute pleasure to share our home with them for the duration of the work. Our project was finished in a realistic time frame and very nearly exactly on budget. The overall experience of working with North Star was a wonderful one and we cannot recommend them highly enough. “We considered a variety of options before selecting North Star Kitchens to design and build our new kitchen. Before turning to North Star Kitchens we had another architect design a kitchen plan for us. In the process of changing our course, we spoke with a couple who had North Star Kitchens design their kitchen. We were struck by the beauty of their design and the efficiency of the build. Several years ago North Star Kitchens did our first project, a complete kitchen remodel. We loved it! Since that time, they have done more jobs for us, the last being in March, 2014. We hired North Star Kitchens to renovate our kitchen after interviewing three other high-end contracting firms. It just felt right to hire them, and our confidence in them did not go unrewarded. Our previous kitchen was a relative disaster and they were able to capitalize on its potential and delivered to us an outstanding final product, with which we could not be more happy. They listened to us during the planning process, but also were not shy to make their own suggestions. They were consistently on time throughout the entire project and their craftsmanship was outstanding. Their employees were delightful to work with and very respectful of our presence.
For pictures of our project, we refer you to North Star Kitchens' website, as they were obviously as delighted with the final product as we are. When one interviews potential contractors, their bid may not be the lowest, but in our case there were no change fees, even though small changes were required. Their bid is what we paid and this really had a very positive impact on the entire process. We would definitely hire them again.
